Birds of a feather

Tuesday, we headed to Busch Gardens. It was super hot and humid, and rain was definitely in the forecast, but we decided to chance it and see what we could get done. One of the first things we did was take Ben in the Lorakeet Aviary. As soon as we got in there, the lorakeets decided they LOVED Michael.
 Ben was excited.

 He looks so thrilled.
 Finally feeding the birds

I have a friend. It kept screeching in my ear, LOL

The birds are getting a little personal now.

 Birdman walking

Intimidator-less

We are an impatient family. Waiting in lines really isn't our thing, especially since we have to split up in 2 groups of 2 and swap out on things Ben can't ride. Weekdays at amusement parks this early in the season tend to have nearly non-existent lines, so we arrived at Kings Dominion ready to ride. Much to our sadness, we found our fave coaster, Intimidator 305 down, and the lovely gentleman guarding the blocked off entrance didn't sound hopeful that it would be open at all that day. Other than that, we had a great day, even though it was approximately 7000 degrees outside and every time I obsessively put sunscreen on Ben, I neglected to apply any to myself.

Michael and Wyatt on Hurler.

Michael attempted to get a picture of David and me on Hurler, but my camera wouldn't cooperate, LOL

This is me, being sunburned and angry about riding the ferris wheel. I hate ferris wheels.

Sharing time

Sunday morning, Michael and I had a presentation to go to, so we left the kids to fend for themselves in our new, awesome, (and free!) hotel suite. All we had to do was attend a timeshare presentation. It actually wasn't bad at all, and was certainly worth the free accommodations and the Bass Pro gift cards we also got.

Once we got back, it was lunch time, so we ate and decided what we were going to do with our day. Part of our admission to Yorktown the day before also got us into parts of Jamestown, so we figured that would be a good way to spend our time, but first, Wyatt wanted to see if he could find a geocache that was just up the street from the hotel.

Success!

We went on another driving tour.

One of the stops on the tour was the Jamestown Glasshouse. They had a glassblowing presentation, but we were more interested in a walk along the shore of the James River.

When we finished, we headed back toward Yorktown on the Colonial Parkway so Ben could gather shells on the shore of the York River.

That evening we spent time at the hotel to rest up for Monday's adventure... Kings Dominion!
